Government Affairs On the Ground: FLA’s Grassroots Tour – Stop 1: Louisiana

April 10 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Private forest landowners across the country are facing pressure and uncertainty in the face of evolving markets, regulations, legislative landscapes, and increased transparency in our operations. For over 80 years, The Forest Landowners Association (FLA) has been a steadfast advocate for your interests on these issues. Now more than ever, it’s imperative that we amplify our efforts to ensure success.

As a grassroots advocacy organization, our strength lies in your participation. While the FLA team tirelessly advocates for your interests on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies, it’s your direct engagement that holds the greatest sway. Policymakers need to hear from you about how legislative and regulatory measures directly impact your forestland and livelihood. Our SET to GO program offers a platform for practical and effective engagement with these policymakers and partners to advance the priorities that are crucial to landowners nationwide. It is essential that we bolster this program to ensure your voice is heard.

We invite you to join us Wednesday, April 10th at the Southern Forest Heritage Museum in Long Leaf, Louisiana for lunch and a short program to discuss current policy priorities, what it means to serve on an Engagement Team, and how we can work together to make a change in forest policy.

Success starts with you. Several years ago, a single landowner approached FLA about the issue of casualty loss in the tax code. From that conversation, the Disaster Reforestation Act was formed, and we are currently closer than ever to fixing that disparity.

Your voice matters, and your active participation in our policy work is pivotal in shaping our collective future. We look forward to your presence and collaboration.
