Landowner Learning Series: Advocacy in Action: How FLA’s Grassroots Engagement Impacts Policy

One of FLA’s priorities is ensuring regulations allow private forest landowners to continue managing their working forests and be economically successful. In order to be effective, policy work is vital.

In 2021, we set up FLA’s SET to GO teams (State Engagement Team to Grassroots Optimization) program. This program gives America’s forestry owners and those engaged in all aspects of private forests an effective means to make their collective voices heard by policymakers at all levels.

Significant steps have been made in 2023 to utilize these teams to engage with members of Congress effectively. Learn how FLA members have made an impact with 14 members of Congress through in-person meetings, farm bill listening sessions this year and how you can be more involved.
