Advocacy

Three key components constitute the Forest Landowners Association’s (FLA) ongoing federal policy advocacy that protects and enhances the property rights of private forest landowners across the United States: direct lobbying, targeted campaign contributions, and national grassroots mobilization. Through direct lobbying, FLA delivers messages about forestry-related issues directly to crucial members of Congress and regulatory agencies who have the power to make decisions that impact private forest landowners. Targeted campaign contributions via the Forest Landowners Association Political Action Committee (FLA-PAC) help FLA to secure access to those very members of Congress whom FLA and its members have worked to influence. Finally, the private forest landowners who mobilize at the grassroots level strengthen those lobbying messages with personal messages to their members of Congress.
